MULTIMEDIA CONTENTS
Since it was formed, our planet has been impacted by rocks and metal fragments that fall from the sky. These are meteorites, which in most cases come from asteroids. Others, however, come from planets or even from our Moon. Some of these meteorites reveal that they were a part of objects that were destroyed by cosmic collisions many million years ago. These fragments from other worlds provide us very valuable information about the origin and evolution of our Solar System and even give us some keys about the possible origin of life on Earth.
Although having a look or even touching a fragment of the Moon, of planet Mars or of asteroids as Vesta is fascinating, these rocks are also very useful from the scientific point of view. In fact, a good meteorite collection is a very valuable tool to get information from materials that played a fundamental role in the construction and evolution of our Solar System. Some of them contain even molecules with are essential for life, as for instance aminoacids.
Every now and then, most of the meteorites belonging to this collection are exposed to the public in order to show how important meteorites are for Science and the consequences of impacts against the Earth and other objects in the Solar System. These are some of the expositions that have been organized so far:

Exposición "Meteoritos: fragmentos de otros mundos". - Huelva 2009: Semana de la Ciencia y la Tecnología 2009.
When these meteorites are exposed to the public, these are accompanied by multimedia material developed by Prof. Jose Maria Madiedo. These are high-resolution videos produced by means of advanced 3D techniques that show different processes related to meteorites and the effects that impacts may have.
